Helping One Project At A Time
We work with the homeless shelters in the Atlanta area, other non profit organizations and the homeless directly by serving dinners, providing basic needs such as daily use items and blessing bags which include hygiene items and snacks, provide programs/services such as job readiness/self empowerment programs, recreational programs for children, seasonal projects etc. We have ongoing food and clothing drives and so much more.
The Community Closet provides a lot of the basic needs for needy families. We serve all of metro Atlanta. We provide such items as clothing, shoes, household goods, personal hygiene items and other basic items.
We currently meet the 1st Saturday of January, March, May, July (no holidays), September and November.
Volunteers meet at 10:30am
Clients meet at 11:30am
All those in need are WELCOME!
We will accept all small furniture accessory items such as lamps, rugs, etc
We assist with resume building, improving interview skills, provide job coaching and dress for success and job tips. Workshops are scheduled on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9am to 12pm at the Norcross Human Services Center, 5030 Georgia Bell Court, Norcross, GA 30093. We provide classes in basic computer, how to use your email and Microsoft Office. You get experienced computer professionals with work with you in an intimate setting. We provide over 2000 lunches each summer to children in need. We are in need of volunteers and donors with this lunch program.
We welcome businesses, groups and organizations to donate and help put lunches together. All interested parties can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 678 245 4622 for dates and times this summer.
Our goal this year is to provide new backpacks filled with school supplies, a new school outfit and new shoes to 500 needy children in the metro Atlanta area.
We are in need of donations of the following items: new backpacks, school supplies such as: #2 pencils, highlighters, theme notebooks, 3 ring binder, notebook paper, copy paper, kid friendly scissors, calculators, crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks and folders.
We are also in need of gift cards for school outfits/uniforms and new shoes.
Our goal this year is to provide 300 needy families with Thanksgiving food baskets.
We are in need of volunteers and sponsors to donate Thanksgiving food items such as : $25 gift card for turkey/ham, aluminum pan, macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables and fruit, cake mix and frosting or pie filling and any other goodies that your family has for Thanksgiving.
This is our busiest and most demanding holiday. We get hundreds of requests for toys from needy families. Our goal is to provide new toys to 1000 children.
Help us make this a great Christmas for these kids. We provide 3-5 toys to each needy children.
There are many ways you can help.
Your business, group or organization can act as a drop off location, have a toy drive and volunteer to help sort and distribute toys to the families.
There is nothing more rewarding than to put a smile on a child’s face.
